Most fans are unaware that Hector Romero's intro into the DJ world began at the age of 13. Nicknamed “DJ Baby Hec,” the Bronx native landed his first job at La Mirage, known at the time as one of the hottest dance clubs in the Bronx. Soon afterwards, he was spinning at a number of clubs including Palladium, Roxy and The Red Zone opening for David Morales. Now entering his 26th year of Djing Hector is surely no longer a “Baby”. His diverse music industry experience is not limited to DJing. From early responsibilities at a local record shop and head of day-to-day operations at DMI Records to the current label manager and business partner of Satoshi Tomiie at SAW.RECORDINGS. Hector is widely known to work hard at his craft ensuring that the fans always are in for a good time. Romero posses the unique ability to reach the masses through his music as well as his personality. Although he describes himself as a DJ with a musical identity crisis, deep down he knows that it’s his diversity and eclectic taste that set him apart from his peers. Hector Romero will bring this diverse and eclectic sound to the booth of one of his favorite clubs Sullivan Room as Basic NYC brings him back to his hometown of New york City on Saturday, January 30, 2010.
