Does ism have the bandwidth to host music? Could be anything - promo sets from local djs, awesome rare sets, live stuff from last week's event - anything that's public goods/used with permission so the mods won't get in trouble.

What think?

We have the technical capabilities to host music. The main obstacle is that somebody has to find the time to curate it and we want to find a consistent and meaningful way to do that. We won't want to do it just because we can.

Another angle on the subject is that most online radio stations do a better job of this than us anyway because that's ... what they do. I also believe that online radio will be more vital to this culture in the long run than our hosting a small selection of music. I'd like to find better ways to spread the word about what particular stations are playing.

p.s. - www.powweb.com can't handle this site's hosting requirements, but thanks for the suggestion.

i'd think music streaming would increase bandwitdh consumption by a good order of magnitude. kind of difficult for a free site to deal with....

all i want is nyc party calendar on my phone....and im volunteering to code ;)
