Not so bad if they were talking about the Who - as in Pete Townsend and Roger Daltry's seminal rock group.

just trying...

Katie,

It is not a flier mistake. URB Magazine, Definitive Jux and System recordings put out a CD entitled "Who's America?" - and yes, the spelling is intentional. It is meant to serve as a double-entendre; it is both "who is america" as well as "whose america".

Did you go to the event? It sold out, and Aesop Rock, El-P, Mr. Lif and The Perceptionists killed it. Shame the crowd thinned out when the dance music came on... guess we've still got a ways to go to get the same appreciation.

Anyways, the CD is cool and all the proceeds go to Music for America and The League of Pissed Off Voters. Should be out now.

"Who's" is not a double-entendre for "whose." Intentional or not, I say yuck.

glad the party was good, though. no I didn't go. i can't support that kind of reckless bad grammar.

If they had written "whose", there never would have been any connotation of "who's". I'm not saying it didn't visually irritate me, but it makes sense.
