New York City: The New York Chapter and The Producer & Engineers Wing of the Recording Academy and BPM Magazine along with AOL Music® and M-Audio host a night of electronic and dance music superstars on Tuesday September 21 to celebrate the addition of the "Best Electronic/Dance Album" category to the 47th Annual GRAMMY® Awards. Paul van Dyk, Sasha, David Morales, The Crystal Method‚s Ken Jordan and DJ Rap are among those scheduled to perform Tuesday, September 21st 2004 at Crobar Nightclub (located at 530 West 28th Street, New York City, between 10th and 11th Avenues) to celebrate the addition of the new GRAMMY® Award Category: "Best Electronic/Dance Album."

"It is an honor and a privilege to be involved in such an event which celebrates the recognition of electronic and dance music as an official category for the Grammys," says international DJ/producer Paul van Dyk, "The occasion marks a revolutionary step for our music genre and I am thrilled to take part in such a historic moment."

"I am so happy about the electronic/dance album category. It is good to know that the community that gives the industry's most prestigious award recognizes all of the important genres of music," adds Ken Jordan of The Crystal Method. "We were joyfully surprised at how quickly this came together and congratulate everyone involved on their hard work."

This event celebrates the dedication of electronic musicians, industry professionals and fans to achieve global recognition for their genre. Electronic artists now have their own home in the music industry's most widely-respected organization that has recognized the music of U2, Coldplay, Aretha Franklin, Prince, Aerosmith and countless others.

The Recording Academy and BPM Magazine hosted a similar event in Hollywood in July, which drew more than 2000 guests. The massive success of the inaugural celebration resulted in the creation of an even larger event for the dance music capital of New York.

The event will take place at New York City's Crobar Nightclub located at 530 West 28th Street, between 10th & 11th Ave. Doors open at 10 pm. RSVPs are required. Your coverage is invited (a red carpet and step & repeat will be provided).
