For? Against?
If you are for them. Please share some of your favorites.
Recently I've been exposed to some extraordinary examples of this genre.
I've always been into to it since I was getting emailed files in 2000.
Please share!

The mashup of "Music Sounds Better With You" with Madonna's "Holiday" is fuckin' brilliant. I also hear that the mashup of Chaka Khan's "Ain't Nobody" and Energy 52's "Cafe Del Mar" is brilliant. Recently, Mixmag did a "100 tunes online that you must get" (or something like that) and there were several mashups. Sometimes you get goodies. Sometimes you get crap like Sasha's "Cowpander". Dunno.

Great fun!
Not for an ENTIRE night of
this stuff (Unless it's: 2 Many DJs)
But a goofy, FUN Mashup track thrown
in as a surprise always makes a party
extra fun! Alex Paterson from the ORB
was hysterical last he played Rome..
kicked shit off with Eminem Mashed
into the Orb's Toxygen..Felix Da
House cat is great at this stuff as well..
(There's an MTV show up here
called MTV Mash..You guys get that over
your side of the Pond?)

When they work, its brilliant. But the "irony" of blending hip hop and punk...that kind of stuff is lame.

What do you mean Irony???
In my opinion it's a great way to dress up two old records and make it sound hot as shit.
I am also a fan of allot of the new artists who embrace different genres of music to stylize their popular tracks and to keep them fresh.
The above is usually reserved for live shows. Not to confuse with the Mashup thread.

Where would you find stuff like this online? I'm assuming that a lot of it doesn't make it to cd.
I've heard of mashups but I've never knowingly heard one. Showing my ignorance, I guess.
