Is that meant to be an elitist status symbol?
If the post count is going to be removed, I think the joined date ought to be removed as well...

Yeah, why was post count removed?
If you guys didn't want it why include it
in the first place, just to remove it a a few weeks later?
Did someone complain?
Just curious.

I think there are a lot of people still stuck in the "we can mock newbies just because they're new" mode

Or as Bart has been once called, a “junior member.”

If newbies think they can hide b/c post count got removed, they're
sadly mistaken. I don't need post count to tell me whose
new or not.
BTW most people who are "mocked" are not newbies.
The people who get the most shit are usually regular
members who just post like retards.
If you noticed the names on "Barts Top 20 Worst NB Posters Of All Time",
you'd see that the majority of people had many posts.
Just as an example:
LittleAngel
QueenChaos
Totallyoff
Danysh
GLauren
and CosmicJustice, just to name a few.

A very good point.
Not sure about Cosmicjustice being in that list though, but it is Bart's list not mine.

We always wanted to remove the postcount, it just took some time to get around to it amidst the other 1 zillion changes we made to this site. The post count is displayed by default when we installed the forum software, it's a matter of REMOVING it, not showing it.
We removed it because it's irrelevant and provides no insight into anything of import.
"Member since:", is a slightly more objective measure of a person's connection or participation in this community. Eventually the personal links between members (a forthcoming User CP feature - think friendster) will demonstrate that much clearer.
I don't see how anything on a online discussion forum could be seen as "Elitist" or "Status Symbol". Seems like a contradiction to me.

Gotcha.
Thanks.
