It has been over 2 years since techno powerhouse, Surgeon, has unleashed his intelligent blend of sonic mayhem on a New York City dancefloor. Since then he has been globe-trotting with fellow British Murder Boys cohort, Regis, and further pushing the boundaries of what can be considered dance music. Having since moved away from Final Scratch, Surgeon has develed further into digital technology and now performs with an Apple laptop, Ableton Live software and a controller creating a 100% live digital experience which enables him to re-edit every song he is playing on the fly, loop and fuse elements from multiple songs at one time. The results are fantastic, now giving him the ability to incorporate music from different styles and tempos in a way that is simply not possible with a standard turntable set-up. Surgeon has truly revolutionized his live DJ performance.

Since it's inception in 1998, Infrastructure has always made it a point to incorporate events into it's regimen as a palette to showcase it's talent and help further define it's sound. This palette is called Substance. Now celebrating six years, Substance has created a platform where New Yorker's could be exposed to some of the most talented techno/house/electronic artists the world has to offer. Since Substance only had a regular home at Limelight in 2000-2002, the party has proven successful in the sense that it has never been about what venue the party is at but, rather, how much care was taken to curate the event.

With a keen eye for the dancefloor and a strong focus on art and passion, Substance continues on being one of New York City's longest running techno events.
