ABOUT THE ARTISTS:

Annie Nightingale BBC Radio 1's first female DJ and nowadays known as 'Queen of Breaks', her unique career spans from the Beatles to Basement Jaxx. She has pioneered breakbeat music for the past seven years. Her current radio show for BBC Radio 1 has the largest worldwide audience and is massively popular via the internet in the USA. Her more recent discoveries have included Daft Punk, Futureshock and Groove Armada. She is the only female DJ in the world to be awarded an MBE by the Queen (2001).

LCD Soundsystem in the studio, LCD Soundsystem is just James Murphy and his multifarious musical, vocal and production skills. Onstage, LCD Soundsystem is a quintet of similarly funk, punk and art-obsessed friends - featuring Pat Mahoney (drums); Nancy Whang (keyboards, vocals); Tyler Pope (bass); and Phil Mossman (guitar, percussion, keys, bass - ex-Sabres of Paradise) - all striving to make you dance while challenging the tired rules and predictable poses of live rock.

The Rapture the story of the Rapture is an unusual one, firstly, because it begins ten years before the release of their first single ‘Echoes’. Secondly because it begins a world away, geographically and culturally, from the place it has become associated with. And thirdly, because Luke Jenner (vocals, guitar), Mattie Safer (vocals, bass and keyboards), Vito Roccoforte (drums) and Gabe Andruzzi (sax, keyboards, percussion), look and sound like a definitive band-as-gang, the line-up that’s now ready to rock our world with a bravura blend of punk, funk, house, disco, pop and psychedelic balladry.
