I know that Sonic Groove is good for techno and tech-house, but I'm also looking for acid, house, deep house, and tribal as well. Vinylmania didn't seem to have that much recent stuff the last time I had gone there. I haven't been to Satellite in about a year because the last time I went they had a lot of old stuff on the wall. (is it even open still?) I know Eightball closed too, did they ever get a new store?
Sonic Groove is on Avenue B now right?

for deep shelter type of stuff go to Dancetracks on East 3rd between 1st and 2nd.
For Victor type of tribal and big room stuff try DecaDance on East 5th btwn 2nd and 3rd I believe.
Satellite is still around, and it's in the same area might as well swing by there.
VinylMarket on east 10th st between 1st and 2nd
Rock and Soul on 34th I think is decent.
Or just go to Mondo in Jersey. Everyone thinks it's cheese but they have the best selection. The buyer does a great job.

What store has a lot of house? like Chicken Lips/Tiefschwarz/Medicine kind of stuff?
Mikey (G3k) always talks about Mondo. I'll have to go there sometime...

Honestly Mondo has the most stuff like that.
But in NY for stuff like that I'd have to say Satellite. Havent been there in a while though.
Def not decadance if you want stuff like that.
also if it's still open Halcyon had some good stuff, its in brooklyn though.
Me and mikey frequent Mondo.

Sonic is now on Ave B bet. 12th and 13th Sts. If you haven't hit that shop in a while, definitely check it out. You'll be surprised at how much their sections have grown.. especially the Industrial. Another good spot for House is Dancetracks on 3rd St. and Ave A. And Adam from Sonic would kill me for saying this, but let's not forget Vinyl Market on 10th St. bet 1st and 2nd Aves.!! all great spots.

I thought Dancetracks was closer to Ave A. Decadance is DEF on 6th St. bet 2nd and 3rd aves. Satellite is on Bowery just below Houston.

...........don't forget vinyl market on 10th street just west of 1st ave............dancetracks 91stave&3rdst) def has some great stuff.............even kim's video on saint marks has some good stuff but useless listening stations.
A1 records is my place for records, all used records nothing new. if you like house there's plenty to go through and you can be pretty guaranteed that nobody else will be playing the same tracks.....
