I must be missing the joke here
I didn't put that brown spot on it.....all I did was add text to a pic-file I had in a whole folder full of pics.

sorry - it happened again - maybe something with the way you're encoding the file...?
worst case, flatten the psd, send it to someone else, and get them to give you the new jpeg. PM me if you need it quick.

Now this is on 3 different machines (XP, XP, OSX), so I don't think the brown spot is on my side.... Maybe the rhythmism attachment system is fucking with your image? Can you try something else as a test, to see if it's your photoshop or not?

I am willing to bet that he doesn't have his gamma or his monitor set correctly so the brown shade is so dark he doesn't see it as brown but black. Maybe he was cleaning up an area and filled it with non-black.

an OT question for you, Commando - do you know how to adjust the contrast of an LCD in software? I have a laptop that has a very high contrast setting, and I can't seem to find anything in the OS/drivers to adjust it (XP, Radeon mobility). There are no function key commands to change it either.
Are there any apps out there than can make a global contrast adjustment like this?

Anyways, back on topic!
He's saying that maybe your monitor is set so dark that the brown that I clearly see on my monitors is invisible to you. Look at the image again, and muck with the knobs on your screen. Does the brown spot show up?
