He's spinning the same weekend as Garnier, Hawtin and Howells (all on Saturday though). That weekend is is just gonna be nutty. I'll be in Prague those days though. Enjoy! :D

Yeah, a bit sick that weekend.
Don't forget Breakbeat Connection, Chew the Fat and Fabriclive as well:
(Stanton Warriors, ED209, Deekline, Adam Freeland, Photek, Teebee, Andy C, UNKLE, Dizzee Rascal amongst others)
Ben, you really don't like Morillo? I'm not even a house fan but the sets I've heard of his impressed me a fair bit. I guess he may work better on a beach in Sydney though!
When's Mark Farina playing?
*edit*** - and who's your friend playing breaks in room 2.
pt - Breaks on a Saturday at Fabric???

What's going on in Prague to make you miss a weekend like that?
Ben - why don't you like Morillo? Do you really think he's that comparable to Farina? Morillo's stuff isn't anything like Mushroom Jazz, imo - it's a lot more summery. Not really fair to compare them.

Morillo is different.
In a word he's "cheesy".
Plays loops on a CDJ for 9 minutes and calls it a party.....
First time I saw him was in Melbourne in 2001 - I was fairly impressed, but after that he got cheesier and cheesier.....he's technically very good, but not in the league of my fav house jocks. (Francois K, Little Louie etc etc)
Go and check him out - most people I know love Morillo.
playtime - my mate is playing breaks at Subliminal - Chew The Fat room.
Farina is playing June 19th @ fabric....he plays a full, jackin' dubby style at fabric....it doesn'tget too jazzy in my exp. (seen him there twice)
Are you going to Hawtin there next weekend?

Probably not, can't afford it and exams are looming. I know I'll end up trashed at Hawtin and need to pass this year!
The Summer should leave me free to go out "proper" once again.

Do you really need a reason to go to Prague? :p Cheap beer, cheap everything else, amazing architecture and hot Czech girls speaking in broken English. Plus I'm going to Holland to see Carl Cox tomorrow as well as the Bedrock Easter party. So that's enough clubbing for me for the week. I will miss Morillo though. IMO he and Tenaglia are the best American house DJs. I def would go to this party if I were here!

Eddie, you can't seriously put Morillo ahead of Carter, Vega, Farina et a few others, can you?

Ahead of Carter, absolutely not.
Ahead of Farina, yes. He's too inconsistent for me: awesome when he's on, better than Tylenol PM when he's off.

I've heard awesome things about DLC, and with him having a monthly residency in London I should have seen him, but haven't. Andy C keeps tempting me to other places. In the Summer, I make it my mission to see him.

do you just run a search for "carter" everytime you log on?
playtime, if the DnB scene is so overrated as you said, you have no excuse for missing DLC. he's almost as good as Lee says. ;)

Hey, my opinion is totally fair and balanced, as evidenced by the fact that I liked Justin Long's set better than Derrick's at the Sears Tower party.

The DnB scene as a whole is overrated, there are so many BOLLOCKS nights out there, even if the lineup is good the system will be shit or they'll be too many fucking MCs or it'll be at a dodgy venue where you're likely to get jacked up.
I've been meaning to go and see Carter for about a year, but something always comes up, ie a really good DnB night like Traffic, Ram Records or Progression Sessions. I promise you all I shall do it in the Summer.
Especially as over the next few weeks I'm missing Garnier, Hawtin, (probably) Morillo, Magda, Vath, Sims, Finke, Marshall Jefferson, Dave Clarke, DJ Rush........

Personally, I'm not a big fan of the Chicago sound. Farina and Carter are great at they do, it's just not my thing. I've heard Morillo at least 30-40 times and his style is more up my alley. It's been a while since I've heard Vega, he's a house music icon without a doubt, but I have no idea what his sound is like these days.
FYI Vega is spinning at The Cross on the 25th of April. I'll be in New York that weekend so I'll have to miss him yet again.
