So with the demise of that other board, we lost a virtual cornucopia of information regarding places to visit, see, where to stay, have the most fun, etc.

So, without further a due, any suggestions for Barcelona?

I am actually going to be in Barcelona next week (Feb. 12-16). Does anyone have any suggestions as to what lpaces I should visit? Any idea if any decent DJs are going to be spinning there that weekend? Any help would be much appretiated!

Go to the Ramblas area and hit up record shops
for flyers..Posters will be up all over town
of any major events. Any music you're into you
will find.

My fave spot is THE LOFT
(mostly electro/electro-clash and techno)
Look into the Terrace and Nitsa. Both
quality venues. Have fun. I won't be back
there till the summer when SONAR swings
around. Post a report...

sounds interesting; is it a clubber's guide? I'm going at the end of the month for Carnivale and looking for things to do specs.

No, it's a general travel guide. In fact, I would say that the clubbing section needs major revision. But in terms of food, sights, lodging, etc ...

Ah, gotcha. Always good to have a general guide when abroad. We just got back from BCN, went to see Roger Sanchez spin at Discotheque last friday.

The cab driver dropped us of in front of a huge old stone enclave which was the remaining portion of part of an old spainish city. We wandered about the windy passageways till we found and followed a clique of scantily dressed girls in high heels to the building where the club was housed.

Wasn't so difficult to find our way but would have been nice to know that the club was inside of this klatch of stone.

Great food, fabulously nice people, am now heavily addicted to Cava. The absinthe was interesting as well. :nice: :sip:

I liked the Loft a lot. La Terrazza is cool too.

I just got back from Barcelona and I had the best time ever! Saw Roger Sanchez at Discoteque. La Terraza is also cool. The architecture there is stunning. Feels like you're really embedded in history. If you're into art, check out the Picasso museum. The women were gorgeous, and very fashion conscious. Don't go to a Barcelona club dressing how you would dress at a place like Arc. For clubbing, check out www.clubbingspain.com It's in Spanish, so you might have some trouble navigating if you don't speak Spanish.

I really liked Moog on Arc del Teatre. It's a little off the beaten path, in an alleyway off of Las Ramblas...but this was 4 years ago so I'm not sure if it's still there.

How to find it: when facing the harbor from Las Ramblas, its one of the last streets (or shall I say alleys) on the right.

Steer clear of Maremagnum, which is a giant south street seaport-like complex on the harbor with clubs that play cheeze to tourists.
