NORTH AMERICA
* DanceStar's weekly DJ mix show on Sirius Satellite Radio launches this Saturday with an exclusive set from BT aka Brian Transeau. The show is titled DanceStar Global Mix and kicks off on Sirius Six Two Remix from 9-10pm EST. Also confirmed for the first five weeks are: Sander Kleinenberg (Feb 14), Murk (21), Steve Lawler (28), Sandra Collins (March 6) and David Guetta (13).
* Visit www.dancestar.com for ticket details of DanceStar USA 2004. The event takes place at Bayfront Park Amphitheater on Tuesday March 9. If you are a nominee, presenter or performer, you will receive notification of your ticket allocation on Monday (Feb 9). If you are none of the above, you must purchase tickets immediately. * GodsKitchen have taken control of Spundae, as part of a strategic move into arena tours and festivals in America. GodsKitchen have also signed a $1 million sponsorship deal with Allied Domecq. The first 'Spundae presents GodsKitchen' events will start in April. * Danny Tenaglia has confirmed he will present two parties at the 2004 Winter Music Conference. Ending his annual marathon sessions, he will now host two parties at Club Envy in Downtown Miami with guest DJs. The events take place on March 7 & 8 (Sunday and Monday) and will feature DJ Vibe, Demi, Chus & Ceballos plus Behrouz (nominated for Best Breakthrough DJ). Sunday March 7 is also Tenaglia's birthday party. Downtown Miami is now the home to the biggest and best events during the Winter Music Conference week, with DanceStar, Ultra, Space and Danny Tenaglia's parties all taking place in the blossoming Miami district.
* The Recording Academy FL Chapter host In the Mix: Dance Music Forum at Nikki Beach in Miami on Monday, March 8 at 3pm EST. Panelists/performers are Jason Bentley, Bill Hamel, Steve 'Silk' Hurley, Ken Jordan, Junkie XL, Murk (Oscar G. & Ralph Falcon), Peter Rauhofer and Carmen Rizzo. * De La Guarda's DJ Connection returns for a Valentine's Special in New York with special guest Larry Tee. The event takes place on February 14. De La Guarda's DJ Connection is nominated for Best Event at DanceStar USA. Vote online at www.dancestar.com

* Spin in Miami relaunches tonight as State. Created by longtime Miami promoter Gerry Kelly, the venue will host a series of parties at the Winter Music Conference including Steve Lawler's Harlem Nights event (Monday 8).
* Sirius Satellite Radio is launching a new channel simply titled Chill, showcasing the music of Moby, Groove Armada, BT etc.
* The nominees for the 1st annual induction into the Dance Music Hall of Fame are: Artists - Barry White, Bee Gees, Chic, Donna Summer, Gloria Gaynor, James Brown, KC & The Sunshine Band, Kraftwerk, MFSB, The Trammps. Producers - Kenneth Gamble & Leon Huff, Giorgio Moroder & Pete Bellotte, and Nile Rodgers & Bernard Edwards. Remixers - Jim Burgess, Walter Gibbons, and Tom Moulton. * N*E*R*D and Black Eyed Peas kick off a US tour on March 15 in Atlanta. N*E*R*D's sophomore album, 'Fly Or Die', is available on Star Trak / Arista on the same day. Both acts perform at the 11th annual Rock The Vote Awards on February 7 in Los Angeles.
* The 20th Anniversary of House Music Tour starts in April 2004 with DJs Jesse Saunders and Chip E. The tour is sponsored by Numark with support from Pioneer.
* Warp's official online music store www.bleep.com is reporting 20,000 individual downloads in the first seven days of trading.
* DanceStar USA is broadening the award voting mechanic this year by partnering with UK specialist BlueSMS to introduce cellphone text voting nationally across six major US telephone networks. It is expected that last year's votes will at least double, and continue to increase as more networks buy into the technology which recently broke new ground with top rated TV show American Idol. Full details will be announced shortly.
SOUTH AMERICA
* Fatboy Slim's Big Beach Boutique event is heading to Flamengo Beach in Rio De Janeiro on March 7. The event follows the two huge Brighton shows. Fatboy said: "It looks like I'm going to be getting sand in my record box again." The UK version of the show is expected to take place in the summer.
* The second RioParade event will take place on May 30 2004. www.rioparade.org

* Budweiser launch the first in a series of King Of Clubs events in the UK with a date in London on Saturday March 20. The event features Faithless All-Stars (DJs Sister Bliss and Maxi Jazz), Audio Bully's live, Felix Da Housecat, Rob da Bank, The Cuban Brothers and Bent. Visit www.budweiser.co.uk
* Space Ibiza is reportedly opening a mini version of the legendary club in Ibiza Town. Titled Baby Space and located next to Burger King, it follows their failed attempt to open a Space club in San Antonio.
* DTS Planet Dance is a new dance project showcasing the finest in surround sound. The project began in 2001 when DTS equipped Ministry of Sound nightclub with the capability to mix live in 5.1 DTS Digital Surround (TM) sound. Ministry was then fully equipped to play back DTS 6.1 channel surround in September 2003, making it the first club in Europe to feature the ultimate surround music experience. DTS' 'Planet Dance' sampler features five multi-channel tracks from some of the world's top DJs, including LTJ Bukem, Rob da Bank aka Lazyboy, Paul Dakeyne, Jazzy M and Sandy Rivera. * Tribal Gathering's Operation May Day event takes place in Manchester on May 1 from 4pm-6am. The event includes DJs Armand Van Helden, Plump DJs, Stanton Warriors, Steve Lawler and Todd Terry.
