Here it is and it's smokin' hot! I could have gone for some more DJ's (not that I am complaining about Laurent, Sander, The Orb, Richard Fearless, etc.) but I know they're easily added at the last minute so fingers crossed. DJ's not withstanding there is some incredible music awaiting those of us lucky enough to be there. Cannot wait...

i'm sure the camping is an experience on its own, but you're probably going to need to rent a car anyway, so i'd say just get a hotel. the days are fabulous but exhausting and long, so you may want a good night's sleep either friday or sat night. also the hotels have pools and it's gorgeous outside, so you might want to enjoy that as well.

once you get there, you're not going to care if it's me up there banging on pots and pans or if it's a headlining act. the atmosphere is so fantastic and there is so much to see on top of the performers. the people watching alone is great- last year there was a man on stilts, a dude wearing a tank on his head, semi naked people everywhere... you will not be bored for a second on sunday.

I checked out their website, didn't see the orb listed. Not like that's going to stop me from going, but it would be a super fluffy bonus for me. Where'd ya hear that they were playing at Coachella?

They were listed on a lineup that was emailed to me by Goldenvoice, who produces and promotes the event. I notice they're absent on the site now, as well. Hmmm...I know these lineups are never set in stone but I do hope Dr. Alex and his bag o' tricks are out in the desert.

A word of advice to those planning on making the desert trek...
Goldenvoice has already sold over 47,000 tickets. Last year at this time they'd sold well less than 10,000. They're planning on doing 50,000 for both days and then capping it so as to preserve the manageability of the event.
Odds are they'll be all gone before March is up so if you already know you're going to be there, get your tix before it's too late.

I can't find any hotel availability in Indio. Palm Springs rooms are dwindling as well. If you find one, please hit me via pm.

I'm staying in LA or Long Beach.. its like a two hour drive to Indio from there. You might want to consider doing something like that.
