The moderators actually have discussed this very debate at length... why one thread and not another?
And the disctinction we settled on is topical relevance:
getting wasted on vodka - even bad, no, painful vodka - is part and parcel to the primary nature of this site. On the other hand selling wack swedish furniture for example or something else totally hypothetical.... i mean something really obscure that wouldn't happen... oh i do't know , just off the top of my head... and i'm just making this up now... say... doing your recruiting work here without a kickback from your comission (*ahem*boa_boy*ahem*) are examples of not so cool threads.
But Harry - or anyone else for that matter - if you resort to spamming - meaning repeated unrequested solicitations - we'll remove those threads and suspend you.

Anyone that refers anyone to me will get a referral fee, as Daveraver did for referring one of his friends......anyone that refers themselves can get a job.....and I only post positions that fit the 'ism demographic - I have prob 50+ other positions that I don't post :nice: :nice:

so why was my thread deleted? i did it once, and simply asked if anyone worked in a certain field. maybe if i didnt include "end spam" (as a joke) then the thread wouldn't have been deleted? also...the reason I asked was in regards to energy conservation...so couldnt that be a normal topic of discussion here?

i dont trash the board...i trash the people who run it b/c of dumb shit like this.
pissed? no. it's really just people who have been geeks there entire lives trying to push a little power on others...kind of like a cop.

oh and another thing....the fact that I am hardly ever here shouldnt have anything to do with whether or not a thread gets deleted...if it does...it means they are being selective. so like if you asked the same thing, your thread wouldn't be deleted - and that would be bullshit.

what other way would it be? we're selective about everything we do on this board, and everything is considered on a case by case basis, based on thread content, not by user. Deal with it.
Why don't you post some techno party spam on a commercial real estate message board and see how long those threads stay up?

we don't talk about anything else here but music? and btw..my thread wasn't a spam thread...I asked who worked in commercial real estate. just admit you were wrong in deleting the thread.

Don't be such a cry baby.
Discussions ranging 'off-topic' is one thing... soliciting people with your wares is another. We're being stricter lately about solicitations on the site. That's accross the board, for real estate deals or girl scout cookies. Deal with it - be a little more discreet or tactful and maybe we won't notice next time.
if any of you are or work for commercial property owners, i'd like to chat with you about a program funded by NY and NJ with regards to energy conservation. can save you a sh*tload of cash. thanks in advance.

no one's crying cocksucker.
you need to look up the word "solicit," b/c all I did was ask if anyone worked in commercial real estate.
don't you think it would be different if it came from someone who never posts? or someones first post? most of these people know me, so i was asking a general question.
i then added, "end spam," which was my own dumb mistake, b/c I wasn't spamming.

Mike we know you and love you but you really can't give the mods any shit... they provide the platform for free communication with the people who make up our little community of elite underground.
So they deleted your thread... I've gotten scolded before, who cares, move on :)
