Should be..
I went last year and had a blast.
danced in a tree and watched
lazers bounce off the river..

Amazing place..
(Almost mystical)
In the middle of no where.

I'll tell you the same thing that
I tell everyone that comes to Italy
in August and expects to have a fun
time clubbing: IT'S DEAD!!!

Most of Italy shuts down and goes
to the Beach that month. For real!
Many pubs, clubs and over all
business freezes that month. Many
tourists visit that month and go back home
thinking Italy is always like that.
*Shrug* it sucks for visitors but it
rocks for all of us that live and work here
since we all get an entire month off..

Perhaps OLD RIVER might have something
in store that month..not sure what
next month's plans are. Don't be discouraged
though..all "club and Raving" aside Italy
is beautiful..(Though not a huge fan of Naples
or Milan) Go to the beaches of Tuscany or
hit some of the Islands. You won't find mega
raves in August but you might just find an
impromptu beach party with some cute Italian
chicks...

Italy's a Fall-Winter-Spring
kinda joint. If you where
coming then I could tell
you of a zillion places to go.

Best of luck
Any more questions PM me..

What about Rimini-Riccione?

I went in June, 2 years ago and not much was open yet (except for Paradiso, which was stunning but had mediocre music). Certainly all those beautiful clubs are open and crowded in August?

I also had a really fun night out at a club in the park in Florence called Central Park. They were playing decent house music in one of the indoor rooms.

There is soooooome stuff alive in
August..but it's nothing compared to
the stuff that goes on all year round..

It all depends what you are looking
for. There IS lots of house and pretty
dance music and R&B, Hip Hop
(mostly in the commercial tip..) in
the places you mentioned. The occasional
"prog" big name pops up from time
to time in the dead month..but if
you are looking for Techno-electro-breaks
D&B or anything else it gets harder
and harder to find. In September (Just to
give you an idea) SONARSOUND comes to
Rome every year...This Sept Mutek, Kompakt,
Dissonance and Enzimi will bring an avalanche
of amazing music to Italy..like wise Milan,
Florence and Naples will be over flooded
with every type of music under the sun
(Some actually UNDER the sun in really cool
outdoor areas away from clubs.)

But if all you want to do is dance
and you don't care what it is then yes..
there is always something around. just make sure
you dress pretty. ;)

DOOD!
Honestly..
I'm not kiddin
EVERYTHING that I
go to is closed in August.
Radiolondra, Brancaleone, Goa
Akab, Saponeria you name it..

It's dead till Sept. sucks..
Wish I could help you but that's
just the way it is here. check
out Testachio and walk around if
you just feel like seeing drunk
people stummble out of crappy
clubs..other wise brave it over
to Rimini THEE only place with
music in Italy at the moment...
(And a double check really
surprised me) Check out my
RIMINI LINK (http://www.rhythmism.com/forum/showthread.php?p=146430#post146430).

look me up if you wanna
grab a drink (or ten) ;)

Best to ya;
