Brianna has built up a dope reputation spanning across several states and many oceans for being a dj that can get the crowd grooving and those booties bouncin'. She is also one woman that can throw down a dope set of B-More Club infused with house, electro and whatever else like none other. Same with Dr. Funk... A member of THRESHOLD Sound and the one who shall heal you through the power of funk, this dj/producer has been known for a while to get the crowd going and people shaking their booties as well, whether to B-More, dubstep, jungle, it doesn't matter, he's got it. So imagine what's gonna happen when these two come together as a force to wreck shop on this night??? That's right... "Get your grind on!"

OOOOHHHHH Boy!!! Two amazing dj's coming together with a similar mind to spread irie vibes through the BASS! Megha is exactly what her name suggests... MEGA! From jungle, to dubstep, to reggae, this lady doesn't stop and her fans don't want her to! You can always count on being assured that you will get quality from the Goddess... And Meszenjah, from jungle, to dubstep, to reggae, to dub, to psytrance, to deco... Meszenjah is full on art, inside and out! Bringing the message from The Source through this art , you can also count on quality but also feeling irie after witnessing his murderation. So yes, it's only proper to have such two amazing dj's come together in a proper showing of combined forces... Oh yes, NOT TO BE MISSED!!

And of course we have cheap drinks, big sound, big floor, and irie vibes!

Dance Dance Evolution
Hartford's dance scene features an organic crowd that's neither glossy nor snide; and Maggie Seligman was folking long before the freaks

Tuesday, January 26, 2010
By Dan Barry

The movie Groove immortalized the abandoned warehouse as the ultimate rave location. That moment in electronic culture may have passed, but it's more than coincidence that some of the best dance parties are taking place at a venue called The Warehouse. The Hartford club has had a wobbly time with ownership and management, but there's no denying that the space is ripe for music. In particular, there's a small room near the entrance that's perfect for DJs and dancers. It's big enough to accommodate a crowd on the dancefloor; it's small enough to keep the energy condensed and focused. And the bricks and concrete give the reassuring sense that no amount of booty or bass will ever make the floor cave in.

This past Saturday, The Warehouse hosted a party called Electronic Roots. It was a wonderful vibe — the crowd was mostly wearing jeans and T-shirts, and looked downright comfortable on the dancefloor. That's a noteworthy achievement, since it represents a middle ground between two pretentious poles of dance culture. On the one hand, you have dressed-to-the-nines nightclubbers, for whom a night out is an exercise in conspicuous consumption. And more recently, you have the hipsters for whom dance music is an ironic exercise, whether it be a stab at their own awkwardness, or a class war satire of upmarket nightclub culture. Saturday's crowd was straight-up proletarian, and their focus was squarely on their love of the music. It doesn't get much better.

I caught a set by Dirty D, one of the DJs from the Hartford Party Starters Union. He was spinning organic, four-to-the-floor thumpers in the style of Daft Punk and Basement Jaxx. There was a great push-pull effect between the serious kick drum that was a constant throughout his set, and the quirky melodies and samples that rode atop the bass. He pulled out ancient '80s pop and R&B chestnuts, more for their deft melodies than for retro ha-has. And he linked into the crowd, pumping his fist and dancing when the beat built up, rather than just hiding behind his equipment. Totally satisfying.

If you're fiending for a night of good dance, then you should head to The Warehouse this Saturday the 30th, when they host an even bigger party called This Is How We Do It. The party is ages 16 and up, and will feature three rooms of music. Featured DJs include Freaky Flow, DJ Venom, Nicky Twist, and DJ Parallax. Connecticut DJs include Apocalypse Project, Meszenjah, Se7en, TCC, and Def PD. It runs from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. (45 Bartholomew Ave., Hartford). Next month, on Feb. 23, Connecticut's own Miz-Eyesis is a featured DJ at the Bass Embassy club night in Worcester. (The V Amendment, 90 Commercial St., Worcester; 18 and up; $5.)
