:sip: On Thursday, August 12, Grandmaster Flash joins us at Crobar. Grandmaster Flash is one of hip-hop’s founding fathers, is credited with the advent of “scratching” and the first to debut trick DJ skills like mixing records behind his back and kicking mixing faders with his feet. His group, The Furious Five was a premier group in the mid-1970’s, known for choreography, studded leather stage wear, and fierce rapping skills and their 1982 hit “The Message” was the first serious rap record.
