The freaks were def out in full effect last night!
Good to see some of you again, and place a face behind some of the names on here...

So basically I rolled through just before 12.
I was greeted by Betty for the first time in front of the line.
She was very pleasant and gave me a blue bracelet! :D

Hit the coat check, and proceeded with sign in hand towards the DJ booth where David was dropping some good funk.
I was then accosted by a drunk Bart & Sinem and narrowly escaped with my life in tact!
After putting up the sign the usual suspects came out of the wood works...
ASH?! :lol:
Between Snardy, 347, S&B and others through out the night, it was def a trip.
Stayed for a good portion of Davids set and made my way upwards.
Caught some of Deadmau. Sounded decent overall
I see Goupie, Seibon, Ichi, Dean as well as another whole bunch gathered around the table pimpin out.
We took some jabs, made fun of Crash n Carey and had a drink.
It progressed nicely!

Went back down to catch Bradley at work!
He threw on some dope bangin tracks but unfortunately, the tables took a complete shit on him and he was not able to use the system properly.
Finally after a long hard battle and he said no mas.
Then Spoony came on and played the crowd nicely.
Went back up stairs and caught some of Zabiela.
I must say I was not impressed, and the guy lacks quality in "playing" big time.
I have never heard a wreck using ableton live before. I guess he never learned how to warp a track properly? :nonono:
His builds and drop were kind of lame, and his tunes were relatively weak.
Its almost as if he went to the jonathon peters school of dj'ing, and aced the tests! :lol:
In either case it was a lot of fun and it was cool to see you all.

Now if you all with start posting pics we can start talking shit again! :nod:

I don't know what you were on but zabiela wasn't even using ableton this time around. He was playing cds only. His track selection was decent for the most part. The crowd was into it every time I would come up to the main floor.

Every time I see him play the crowd is bouncing, screaming, hands in air. If that what you call not connecting with crowd then I don't know what it is.

In addition, few DJs put in the extra effort that James does to do actually make that connection. Signing posters, doing his whole "thank you" acapella at the end of his set, posting on messageboards, and always being very positive and enthusiastic about what he's doing. On top of that, none of his success has changed his humble and down to earth character. He definitely understands that a DJ wouldn't be anything without a dancefloor to appreciate him.

Obviously I love the guy and its been a real pleasure working with him when he comes to Pacha. He is always very considerate about making sure we're set up properly in the booth after he's done...not many headliners would even care.

dont get me wrong, i think hes a very technically skilled person, but all the 3-4 times i have gone to see him, hes up and down with track selection and flow. to each his own. I personally thank him for putting my remix of elons track on one of his 4 series mixes on proton. hes also featured some of my friends tracks to on his cds as well.

i talking about music people. NOT signing posters, thank you notes and message boards.

I'm talking about that too...hence "in addition." That stuff wouldn't mean much if he wasn't representing in the first category to the fullest.

Also in all seriousness he's not the first DJ who would have his up and downs. I'm guessing the energy he brings to his sets can be hard to maintain 100% of the time when you've got an insane travel schedule like he does.

I'm kind of glad he doesn't do drugs. Love that guy's vibe just the way he is.

I don't really like all he effects and stuff, and I think he's really hit or miss each time he plays on tunes because he has really diverse taste and plays a whole bunch of different kinds of stuff.
