Fun night, REAL FUCKING FUN! But........................

I wish I never clicked on the Coachella link and put that set in my ipod!

Cause BOY O BOY they sounded pretty damn similar if not the same beat for beat and vocal for vocal...Till the encore "one more timmmmmmeeeeeee!" backed by "Ohhh baby, I feel right, the music sounds better with you!"

98 WMC all over again for me! Just needed AVH's "You don't know me!" and I was back there at Salvation...

Still, I have never seen visuals like that nor have I ever been on a dancefloor that big and that up for EVERYTHING!

FUN FUN FUN!

sick.
what a fucking great show.
midway through daft punks set, the section that started off with pehonix made me totaly lose it. i havent danced like that in a while.
the lighting/video was top notch too. i'm a lighting guy and it takes alot to impress me when it comes to lights and effects. this was by far one of the best shows i've seen as far as lighting is concerened. fucking solid.

how is it possible that we didnt get rained on?

Seems we just went to a Rave.

Daft Punk Put on a great show with amazing visual displays, 2 encores, and a great, warm sounding setup. The moment that I lost control was when they dropped Rollin and Scratchin, or Scratchin and Rollin, whatever it's called - that and Da Funk. Top notch businesas. They played the fav's yeah but they got experimental, and you could hear the influence of mash up DJ culture.

On the tech side I was wondering why it sounded so bad when we arrived, and then so good when DP played. I was informed that they are all analog live, and the act(s) before were either CD's or audio from a laptop. Both are fine with me but there was a marked difference in warmth and clarity when DP came on.

All went off without a hitch except it seemed that a couple of douchebags for whatever reason wanted to hang near us and fuck with our stuff. Some kid fell over our bags and I found myself hoisting him by the back of his pants. That was funny, but that tall guy that tried molesting all our girlfriends got the punch in the face he deserved...From a girl!!! Ahhh kids and their alcohol.

It was sooo good to meet so many ismers on the floor and party down like that. The Senior Cut Day crew was prompt in yelling at us when we arrived, and then gifted us harmonicas. The shirts were cute guys, well done!

Overall wonderful experience, worth the money and wait. I really enjoyed being with the ismers...Here's to us, and Daft Punk. Electronic Dance Music is alive and well in NYC - Ash eat your heart out!

I don't really need to say much, except holy shit.

Sorry you had a bad crowd experience, mine was actually really pleasant and almost heartwarming. Everyone around us was really awesome.

But really. Holy shit.

That lighting was some impressive shit. I would readily watch a documentary on how they came up with and then realized the concept.

Hold on now, as there are a few people around the world (no pun intended) that have paid good money thinking they were getting something more than just a pretty light show. If I found out my favorite artist was faking it, no matter how good time i had, i'd be pissed. Dont want to be a hater, but considering the helemts and shit, I think you guys could be getting played.

From the August edition of MixMag:

Quote:

1. ABLETON
"The show revolves around Ableton Live software on custom made super-computers, which we remotely access and control with Behringer BCR2000 midi controllers."

2. SCREENS
"Next to the ethernet remote computer screens there are four Minimoog Voyagers, the classic analog synthesizers. They're a 30-year old design."

3. MOOGS
"We can mix, shuffle, trigger loops, filter, distort samples, EQ in and out, transpose or destroy and deconstruct synth lines. We keep some surprises on the side too!"

4. VISUALS
"There's a direct connection between our rig and the lights and visuals of the show. The light and video engineers can also add or control layers during the show."

5. SYNTHS
"Inside the pyramid are synthesizers and remote controls connected to the rest of the music equipment and computers, which are in rack-mounted towers off stage."

6. TEAMWORK
"Working the music equipment, lighting and video equipment, and building the pyramid for each show takes around 10 people, including both of us."

I saw them at Lolla last weekend and I wasn't all that impressed, especially how they slammed "One More Time" in mid set where it had no place being played.

Then again, I was at Underworld last time they played Hammerstein...

Glad you guys enjoyed.

I'm certain they were not faking it -but they most likely have a playlist that they go by every show... not really that uncommon. it is a rehearsed production... like a broadway show.

^^^That tron glow was unbelievable! And that encore was not in any bootleg that I own... Great show... great experience... They def mixed things up a bit for the first 30 mins of the show... I know that coachella set by heart and they added a lot more to the melodic tracks... it was pretty much the same for the more minimal stuff towards the end but what can they do to vary on that?

I was a bit pissed about the HUGE beer lines and the fact that they ran out 5 minutes after daft went on but it was all for the best because I'm not that hungover today

Thanks Rev for helping me get rid of my extra ticket btw.

I had a blast... really just a good ould fashioned rave, and coney island gave it a good old summer-festival-fucked-up vibe.... the wise ones were the ones who took today off and made a full night of it.

I even saw sidney and yeah he was wearing the STFU *-lady shirt; now its definitely sad

the Q train coming back into town was downright HILARIOUS... ive never seen anything like that... dougie, if you're reading this, you are a champion amongst men.

that drunk guy kept dancing into people, and i think it was kind of on purpose... he danced into me so i just stood my ground... he leaned in harder, so i gyrated on his leg a little, and grabbed his ass a couple times.

he didn't dance into me anymore after that.

he did come over later and slur some drunken gibberish into my ear, to which i replied "ok" and he seemed happy with that.
