Berlin-based Marc Miroir, the German producer and Paso Music label founder is deeply rooted in the electronic music scene as a DJ since 1993. His vast experience as a DJ and his ability to create a journey from deep house through tech house, minimal, acid house towards techno, in his legendary long sets makes Miroir a force to be noted. Fans of releases on Level Non Zero, Bondage Music, Trapez and Great Stuff will, no doubt, be well aware of Marc Miroir's dancefloor sensibility.
His natural affinity to the audience, a flawless (and seemingly effortless) mixing style (vinyl) and innate tune selection, have given him a huge fan-base around the world. Marc Miroir has played nearly every big event in Germany and Europe, events like Nature One, SonneMondSterne, Rave on Snow, Winterworld, Ruhr in Love, Thaibreak and many well-known clubs like Cocoon Club, Space, Florida 135 and Fabrik in Spain, besides his residencies at Weekend in Berlin and Airport in Würzburg.
Now, in 2012, it is time to experience his debut artist album.

Some things just get better and better with time, like your favourite old leather jacket, and sex, feeling comfortable in your own skin or even just life itself. With this philosophy in mind, prominent DJ and Paso Music founder Marc Miroir has thoughtfully crafted his debut artist album Hitting Home. Miroir’s unforgettable all-vinyl DJ sets in the world's most-renowned clubs, and highly sought after 12” releases for well established labels have vested him the reputation as one of the hottest names in the underground.
Hitting Home is a career zenith; a mature, full-bodied voyage across the mesmerizing, diversified landscape of electronic music. Joining Marc on these eleven new tracks are a colourful host of collaborations from Chicks On Speed founder Kiki Moorse, the XXL Italian disco diva Hard Ton, and Berlin’s up-and-coming Integer. Long-time co-producers Asem Shama, Ronald Christoph and Andreas Henneberg, all lend their skills to the album as well. “Hitting Home” is Marc‘s piéce de résistance – unfolding as one majestic body of work, connected cleverly by intermezzi from start to finish.
Displaying the full breadth of his artistic reach for the first time, the album is an amalgamate of straight-up peak time techno, tech house and minimal grooves, deep grooves, acid house numbers and pure electronica with plenty of surprise twists and turns. It boldly ventures through other-wordly atmospheres where electronic sounds break away from dance music entirely and become a physical experience, unleashing huge thrills on the senses.

While it’s hard to pick a favourite among these gems, the club anthem “Fire” featuring Hard Ton is a pure acid house inferno with huge hit potential! On “Faces”, Marc and Andreas Henneberg create a brilliantly groovy tech house bomb with powerful bass, bouncing rhythms, elasticized melodies and throbbing synths that work with bubbling fluidity.
Displaying the quirky brilliance that established her as a prominent indie art figure, Kiki Moorse lays down some wonderfully weird vocals on “The Train”. Weaving together fun and freaky elements, the track develops confidently into a playful and fluid exploration of sound and melody with undeniable boogie.
On “Sounds of the Barn”, Marc fascinatingly constructs catchy minimal house almost entirely from sample recordings of random paraphernalia in his parents’ garage. Finishing with the surreal album closer “Coming Home”, Marc pairs up with close friend and Berlin newcomer Integer, lifting the track up to another sphere with his smooth, dreamy vocals that bring the end of the album to a state of pure bliss.
Hitting Home is a proudly handcrafted debut album from a techno veteran that is not to be missed, and one that will surely launch Miroir into a new league of talent and bright lights.
