Basic presents Sleepy & Boo + Friends (Sleepy's B-Day) @ Cielo - Friday, July 13
Every second Friday of the month, Sleepy & Boo + Friends takes over Cielo for our monthly night of booming Big Apple Beats. We're all still smiling from our June date, when we celebrated the party's two year anniversary with a massive set from special guest Joris Voorn. But now that July is here, the festivities continue - this Friday, July 13th, Sleepy & Boo + Friends returns for our mid-summer edition and we're celebrating a Birthday bash for S&B's very own Sleepy. It's a party, and we've got loads of brand-new music to drop on Cielo's pristine Funktion One - our first headlining set back at the club since May. As always we've got free entry before midnight on our guest list if you email rsvp@basicnyc.com - so sign up, come early, and stay late for a great night of music at one of New York's best venues.
The first two years of Sleepy & Boo + Friends have flown by, and every month we look forward to returning to Cielo to share the freshest music and grooves with one of New York's most energetic and music-loving crowds. This party is dedicated to New York's hometown heroes of the dancefloor, as we headline the night alongside local guests and openers. It's a no-nonsense party that celebrates everything we love about nightlife in New York - great music and great people having a great time together on the dancefloor. Month in and month out, no matter what else is on our schedule, Sleepy & Boo + Friends at Cielo is always a highlight of our calendar.
Sleepy & Boo have been nominated once again for DJ Times Magazine's America's Best DJ poll, and next month (August 10th), we'll be welcoming DJ Times to Cielo for our August edition. It's an honor to be included in the poll once again, and it's another highlight to a great summer that's only halfway through. From sets at Governor's Island, to bringing in techno legends like Dave Clarke and Derrick May, to massive outdoor festivals, it's been a busy summer full of diverse music and great parties.
The music at Cielo this Friday is going to be top notch. Getting things started will be two of NYC's underground newcomers, VKTR and Lyand. This is their Cielo debut, and they've been guests at some of our recent Basic events. It's also Mimir's B-Day so the night will be off and running with a festive birthday vibe. Up next is one of NYC's true DJing veterans - the Satellite Records co-founder Scott Richmond. Satellite was the destination for discerning DJs and music fans for close to a decade, and one of the first record shops to sell music over the Internet. It's now been reborn as an online retailer, and we're offering a special Satellite gift card to guests who come to the event. This is the first time Scott has played at one of our Basic events, and we're honored to have him on the lineup. We'll be taking over for an extended headlining set after our friends, and early arrival is recommended for all. This party is free before 12am on our guestlist, and we have some great table specials available on the night - just contact rsvp@basicnyc.com to get yourself hooked up. We'll see you on the dancefloor Friday for another great night at Cielo.
