i think he deleted it out of embarasment but did you also notice how JP the Greek couldn't resist declaring that 2012 would see some r&b acts come to light. you know, because that genre of American music that's been around for over a hundred years isn't mentioned on these hipster blogs

What if they announced he's playing coachella 3 weeks ago?

still hasn't crossed over?

i'd probably cross over too if drake was tweeting links to my music.

also my buddy in Toronto told me people went crazy at his concerts a few weeks ago. I heard he did 3 huge shows in Canada.

the weeknd or sbtrkt? the former has not played live since july (basically first two shows ever) and those were two small club gigs. the latter had drake play his show in toronto but afaik it was only one night and not that big.

arguable, especially considering all the press and hype this dood is getting, but ok can you name any other artists in this vein that you think will make R&B "the next big thing"? Cuz that's kinda funny.

i only know frank ocean and aluna george. frank ocean is down with OWFGT or whatever... and aluna george is more like post-dubstep stuff (which i kinda like btw) and i wouldn't classify it in the same vein as the weeknd or frank ocean.

i dont know man i mean basically what you are telling me right now (for the most part) is that popular music is going to be the next big thing.

really bro? cuz you heard a bass synth that sounds KINDA similar to an old industrial song suddenly you're claiming some sort of musical superiority? child please. That's like me shitting on heavy metal cuz it has the same guitar sounds as blues rock or psychedelic rock. I'm sorry the guy didn't use a spork to strum on a sitar made of ramen noodles or whatever other quirky bullshit it takes for you to acknowledge something as "edgy" and "innovative". You keep combing the blogosphere for the next breakout banjo artist bro, i'll be here listening to good music.

Wow homey, chill down. Just because bro Convex there mines some old industrial track for his bassline... an iconic industrial bassline mind you, and it gets called out there's no reason to get all angry. We all know that what he's doing is the sincerest form of flattery. It's a good bass line. I'd probably steal it too if I'd ever made industrial tinged anything.

Don't get so offended. It's not just kinda similar either, it's almost a direct copy. It's cool though, no one's mad at him.

To be honest though DJ I don't think you really do edgy music. It's not your thing. You're a laid-back chill time bro. Jeff Mills style.

listen bro, imma let you in on a little secret. There's this thing called a synthesizer right? And that synth has these things called sound banks right? And sometimes, people even use the same sound banks!

Notice how the song I posted has a bass sound way more similar to what you posted? And i guarantee that kerri chandler or some old industrial song from the 80's was the last thing on jon convex's mind when making that track.

I realize you think everybody should be making music by doing jumping jacks and recording the sound of their balls slapping against their inner thigh or something equally "edgy" but the fact of the matter is most "innovative" and edgy music borrows elements from established music that is no longer innovative and edgy.

its cute though that you think you are cool because you listened to industrial.

Beyond banging and lasted till 6am. She closed out the night with Stevie Wonder played a nice 4hr set. As usual Willie G and Nicolas didn't disappoint a lot of great music played. I think around 650/700 people in total showed up to celebrate the best club in nyc since vinyl/arc closed .

Sat nights in Feb will be great
2/4: Tedd Patterson (my #1 Dj for the past 4.5yrs)
2/11: Dj Qu, Willie Graff, Anthony Parasole
2/18: Kenny Larkin
2/25: Alex From Tokyo & Willie Graff

Quality genre bending house music and not just monoutous beats for hrs on end. Seriously recommend u check it out.
