Julio [Sheik 'N' Beik]
From his earliest memories, Julio always grew up with loud music at home. His father who was an obsessive record collector was always playing his diverse collection of rock, funk and soul records.
Julio's first experiences with mixing happened at the tender age of 7 when he would create mix tapes from the radio by recording the songs that he liked and erasing adverts and unwanted tracks. This passion for music selection grew stronger in high school when at age 15 Julio hosted a reggae show in the local station that went on for 3 years, meanwhile accumulating his own record collection and getting influenced by Daft Punk, Laurent Garnier and other varieties of electronic music.
It is only while Julio attended college in Boston that Julio got his first experience on turntables by practicing at home with his friend Nitesh's CD-J's 100's. The crowds were small with 50 or so people and fresh electronic music was scarse in a post 9/11 era in North America. In 2003, the electronic music scene in NYC was at an all time low with "Robots" being the only promoters that were bringing interesting DJ's with Bill Patrick and Nick AC. Nevertheless, this gave Julio hope and soon other fun parties started happening such as "Minimoo" and "Bunker".
By the time Julio moved to NY in 2007, he had just acquired his first pair of turntables and the itch to spin was stronger than ever. He eventually started a weekly party "Sheik 'n' Beik" so he could play as he couldn't wait to get booked by anyone else considering the lack of releases. The parties were an instant success and filled up with 200 friends and friends of friends on a regular basis. During this period, Julio also held a weekly Reggae party at The Inn. With both parties happening at the same time, eventually more DJ's and Producers joined the cause and the one man show grew into a collective as the parties grew bigger and bigger, notably for Halloween 2008 when the SNB crew brought Circoloco to NYC for the first time in a joint party with Resolute and BLK Market that saw 1500 people going nuts till 10 am.
For the first year anniversary, Julio met Nikko Gibler through a mutual friend and Nikko played at the party. Nikko and Julio became good friends and eventually Nikko joined the ship in the quest for new horizons. Today Sheik 'n' Beik has grown to be recognized worldwide by throwing events from London to Paris, Rio de Janeiro, Beirut, Bogota, Barcelona and the list goes on. As we're approaching the end of the world according to the Mayan calendar, Sheik 'n' Beik is reinventing itself by including a record label, Sheik 'n' Beik Records. The future is bright.

Nikko Gibler [Culprit/ Leftroom / Sheik 'N' Beik]
Known and respected as a naturally-gifted pianist and producer of multiple genres, LA based, Nikko Gibler is one of the most "overall" musically gifted people in the industry. His proficiency in over 10 instruments, his ability to deliver perfectly-pitched vocals effortlessly, his profound connection with music and what we like to call "Constant Flawless Improvization" on his main instrument, the piano... has quickly placed him as a highly sought-after studio asset within the "who's who" of today's most prolific and forward thinking artists, producers and djs.
Nikko Gibler's original music is extremely varied and timeless with extreme attention to detail. Particularly, focussing on the often-forgotten lyrics and harmonic/melodic progressions of our yesteryears; bringing back a certain classic charm to the scene. What he likes to call... "Turning tracks into songs."
Ranging from cold methodical IDM and ambient, jazz and country oriented deep house soundscapes, to solid and playful breaks or tearfully crafted rock ballads; his music IS and will NEVER be easily categorized.
