Unread Tuesday, Jan 4th 2005, 11:04 PM #1 Mr. C and Peter Anthony -- Perceptions on Proton Radio 1.10.05
Starting the new year myself and Dres are lucky enough to have quite the kickoff -- mixes from Mr. C and our own Peter Anthony!!

site: www.protonradio.com

time: 3pm EST - 6pm, Jan 10th, 2005

show: Perceptions with Dres and David Josephs

A little about both:

Mr. C

International dj, innovative producer, founder of plink plonk , Shamen frontman and co- owner of the end, Mr C emerged as a pioneering force in the house music scene in 1987 and has continued to be instrumental in the proliferation of dance music on a global scale.

His commitment to experimentation and credibility in setting the standards for sophistication in all sub-genres of dance music has earned him world-wide prestige as he endeavours to take the sounds of the underground to new and more accessible heights.

In 1989, his talent as a vivacious m.c was taken to new heights when he joined the shamen. the band's escalation into one of the world's most successful dance bands owed much to Mr.C's vocal charisma, writing skills and remix and production expertise, with 'move any mountain's re-release as 'progen '91' hitting the national charts at number 4 and 'ebineezer good' holding the number one slot for four weeks in 1992.

The energy and prestige he gained from this experience was re-channeled into the underground scene where Mr C continues to innovate in his various capacities as a dj, producer, club owner/ promoter and dance music spokesperson.

Mr C's versatility as a dj is second to none, applying his own unique and highly sophisticated technique to all aspects of dance ranging from future house and funky techno to psychedelic breakbeat and abstract acid electronica.

Now solely residing at the end's "subterrain" night, Mr C's unique blend of deep house, tech-house and techno has made him one of the biggest names on the european techno circuit as well as one of the uk's most popular and colourful dj's.

The last year has seen mr c attain critical acclaim with the release of Mr C & Robert Owens " a thing called love" as well as his own "birds and the bees" track on End Recordings; the year 2000 sees him release the "Subterrain 100% Unreleased" album featuring a host of tech-house luminaries including Stacey Pullen, Terry Francis, Charles webster, Gene Farris, Derrick Carter and more.

Peter Anthony

Gravitating towards dancefloor-moving sounds following his mid-90’s relocation to New York City to head up the A&R Department at Astralwerks, Peter Anthony has quite simply made a name for himself in the dance music industry by taking musical chances and pushing the envelope while still moving the crowd. Peter has consistently stirred up the New York underground with a series of small parties and events featuring guests that subscribe to a like-minded vision of electronic music's future. His most famous brainchild, Sleaze Factor, was New York's first club night to pioneer a tech-house music policy.

Peter's skillful opening sets earned him the praise of many a Sleaze Factor guest, including Mr. C, "Evil" Eddie Richards, Carl Craig, Pure Science, Nathan Coles, Asad Rizvi, G-Pal, and Richard Grey, each of whom were ably set up by Peter's mix of house, techno, breakbeats, and acid. He's also shared the decks at events around the world with The Chemical Brothers, Richie Hawtin, Stacey Pullen, Mark Broom, Gavin Hardkiss, Dave Mothersole (KISS-FM, London), Q-Burns Abstract Message (Eighth Dimension, Orlando), Freaky Chakra, Grant Dell (Loaded UK), and Three (Hallucination).

One Sleaze Factor guest, Carl Clarke, resident at London’s famous Turnmills for the club's Headstart party was so floored by his abilities that he offered Peter a quarterly residency at the club. 2001 found Peter playing alongside such up-and-coming contemporaries as Silicone Soul and heavyweights as Dave Clarke, Josh Wink, Aphex Twin and Rolando (Underground Resistance) plus co-residents FC/Kahuna. "Headstart was a true inspiration to me. A wicked dark room with a big 'ol analog sound system, a trippy green laser, and a bunch of mental people which proved that the spirit of acid house still lives."

2002 kicked off with a flair, having been personally chosen by Mr. C to close his birthday party in the main room of SubTerrain at The End nightclub, following up Eddie Richards and Tom Parris, joining a handful of American DJ's to pass enough muster to play SubTerrain. Combine with that a schedule of dates that took him throughout the US, back to Europe and to Mexico for the first time.

2003 found Peter finally taking his knack for choosing incredible tracks and stepping behind the mixing desk, teaming up with long-time Brooklyn Storm Rave scenester Michael Mercer under the remixing guise of the Ol’ Skool Bastids. With two remixes under their belts, one for Seamless Satori to be released on the fledgling Listen To Reason label and a second, for producer Earth Deuley, the two were destined to light up dancefloors. Add to that a summer tour of Europe, capped with an Ibiza debut with gigs at coveted island clubs Ibiza Underground and Guarana and an invitation to play the infamous London party Whoop Whoop – the first American DJ to grace the decks of this underground institution in its 10-year existence.

2004 brings another step towards the next level. Ol’ Skool Bastids have been feverishly working on a cache of original material to shop to willing labels and this summer’s triumphant return to Europe finds this hard-working new talent on the circuit rocking Ibiza at DC10 and a headlining gig at Ibiza Underground with 300 mad partiers screaming ‘uno mas’ until well after daybreak!

What is it with you people.... don't you have a life?
If i get 1 more nerd come up to me saying "Hi.... i'm so&so from the Tech house board" or "i'm such & such from 4four" i'll scream!
When i introduce myself to someone i say "Hi...I'm Richard" .......Simple no?
Why must you nerds introduce yourselves as "from 4four"? Do you own 4four? Do you work at 4four? Do you have anything to do with 4four whatsoever other than post your worthless opinions for other nerds to respond to? If you did i would understand....... but you don't!
GET A FUCKIN LIFE YOU MUGS!!!
This scene is for living..... not just for talking about.
Why talk about dancing when you can dance?
Next time 1 of you nerds feels the desire to introduce yourself to me just think of how much i'll scoff at you if you introduce yourself as someone from 4four........
Simply say "hi i'm joe bloggs.... i like your stuff" or "Hello... i'm Jane Smith, nice to meet you" & you'll be much better received (& probably not such a nerd for that matter)!
Oh...... & another thing...... there's a little something that goes hand in hand with music when it come to Club Culture..... it's called fashion. We dress up to make ourselve & others around us feel good....Smarten up a bit please tramps!!!!!!! No one wants to go out & be surrounded be nerds with the same dress sense as Dot Cotton. The point of clubbing is to celebrate life. That means constantly looking for more quality no? Lets make that quality asthetically pleasing as well as musically satisfying.

Below you will find the angry comments of those that do not understand!...
............ as if real clubland gives a shit!

Game over. I win.

and you were trying to accomplish what by posting this ichi?

his comments in no way take away from his tremendous talent as a producer and as a dj -- if you're going to say that his comments were so bad that you would never listen to him play or mix then that's crazy, cause then you'd be saying you'll only listen to musicians and artists who are only nice and courteous at all times -- he was being sincere and i thought what he was trying to say was basically be yourself, not some "character" off of a message board -- i've witnessed people introducing themselves as xyz off of said msg board and sometimes i think you should just introduce yourself as that, yourself.

do i agree with everything he wrote, no..but do i agree with everything you write ichi..hardly; does that mean i respect you less as an ENT or whatever it is you exactly do, no.

Nothing like a bit of controversy to ruffle the Christmas feathers..... No album to promote either i'm afraid!
This is meant for fun & very firmly tongue in cheek..... but isn't it wierd how people do address themselves as being from a message board (& they are usually nerdy).

As for the shallow bit........ If someone likes forward thinking, innovative, sophisticated, fun music you would think that this person has good taste right?.......
..........that said, wouldn't you think that this same person would then demand that clobber, food, sex, drugs, life all be of equally high quality/standard or can someone just demand quality in only 1 aspect of their life? Another silly question up for debate!
