At the end of the mix, Pete Tong plugs this Friday's party at Nerve in Miami. And who is the last artist listed? Why it's none other than New York's own Astro&Glyde!!! Congrats to Gaby and James!!! Their first (of many I imagine) mention on the BBC's Radio One!!!
Can't say it enough. "Aimless Dame" is a stormah!! Get your asses to Nerve on Friday and say you were there when it all began.
Then, be the coolest mofo when the Dame is released March 29th on Bedrock Records and you get it and you play it and when the hotties come up to you at the party/club and say, "What is this bomb track?".................you say, "Aimless Dame by these two krazy muthafuckahs from New York. I saw them in Miami. Great guys, but they can't hold their liquor fer shit!"
First tune sounds like it samples the guitar bit from "Caribbean Queen" which would be inexcusable.
Digging some of the other sounds but nothing earth-shattering. He's capable of much, much more.
Better to dig up his Hotmix from July '99 (these were white labels at the time):
Bedrock - 'Heaven Scent' (White Label)
Bedrock - 'Lifeline' (White Label)
Christian West - 'Eterna (Dub)' (White Label)
Orbital - 'Nothing Left (Breeder Remix)' (Ffrr)
It's almost 5 years old and it's still absolutely devastating when Alison Goldfrapp's vocals kick in on the Orbital track.
