Bio:
Growing up in a quiet suburb outside of Seattle, WA,
Camea studied music and dance for most of her life. As
a classically and jazz trained piano and clarinet
player, she became intrigued by the innovations of
electronic music when first exposed in the 90s, upon
which her life’s focus quickly shifted.
After maintaining several residencies in Seattle and a
3 month DJ stint in India, Camea relocated to New York
City in 2002. Since her arrival she has been working
hard to expand her talents. Her dark, minimal techno
and micro-house sound has steadily secured her
bookings nationally and internationally. Camea’s
craving for fresh, innovative audio, matched with a
strong musical background, has catalyzed her into the
world of production. She recently collaborated with
Insideout (Grant Aaron) to start up their own imprint,
Clink. The concept for the label is to project the
link between technology, emotion and audio. The label
features various minimal techno and micro-house tracks
by her, Insideout and guest artists.
Best known for her positive attitude, outgoing spirit
behind the decks and floor moving tracks, Camea
concentrates on bringing new sounds to the dance floor
while keeping a dark and driving groove that
electronic music lovers can identify with. At one
point or another Camea has found herself playing
alongside several of the world’s leading techno,
minimal and house artists, and has secured a place as
a rising talent amongst them.
