Following the success of Lance Cashion's "The Sound",
Proton Radio returns with "Bucktown Business" a single disc commercial release mixed by
Brian Ffar and
Daniel Mnookin from the shows
Red Line Sessions and
Tic Tech Toe respectively.
Available in both hard copy format, as well as MP3 on well known MP3 sites (Beatport, ITunes, and Resonant Vibes), "Bucktown Business" represents the fusion of forward thinking sounds that have been the focus of both Brian and Daniel's respective shows over the years.
As with Lance's compilation, Brian and Daniel accepted submissions and contacted various friends and music acquaintances for unreleased tracks that would eventually result in the 14 track, roughly 74 minute mix disc. The finished product contains original, previously unreleased works by producers hailing from towns as far away as Chelyabinsk, Russia to Guadalajara, Mexico. "Bucktown Business" also finds producers from the likes of Canada, England, Germany, Japan, and various cities around the United States contributing. Two of New York's finest in Elon and Taimur are also featured on the single disc, with Taimur's "Androids Take a Look at their Reflection" a remix of Elon's original track entitled "Reflection".
All 14 tracks were signed to
Proton Music, and following the release of the compilation will be available on the same MP3 sites mentioned above in single format. Plans are also being discussed for Proton to release remix packages of some of the tracks. Finally, Proton will be playing original DJ mixes from all of the artists whose productions were used on the compilation during its "Featured Artist" weekly radio show.
With the CD released and now available for purchase, Brian and Daniel are both set to take "Bucktown Business" to the streets, with gigs already confirmed in Boston, Denver, Juarez, Mexico, Miami, Los Angeles, and Louisville - however, these dates are only the beginning of what hopes to be an impending world domination.
