Unread Wednesday, Feb 1st 2006, 02:05 PM #1 The Prodigy US Tour Dates + 'Their Law- The Singles 1990-2005' 2xCD/DVD
The Prodigy return to U.S. this March for select dates including NYC, Chicago ,and D.C. and the headlining slot at this year’s Ultra Music Festival in Miami. The emergence of The Prodigy on the mainstream radar stands as a defining moment in the history of popular music. A band that has played and even headlined almost every major festival in the world including England’s Glastonbury Festival to Fuji in Japan, to Coachella in the US. Having performed in front of thousands and thousands of fans in every country it is no wonder that The Prodigy have continuously charted at #1 with their albums. In fact, since 1990 The Prodigy have released 4 albums and numerous singles, been #1 in 27 countries simultaneously with their incomparable “Fat of The Land” masterpiece, toured the world with their incendiary live show, made groundbreaking videos such as “Smack My Bitch Up” and “ Firestarter”, they shake things up musically and socially and been unafraid to court controversy.

On February 28th XL Records US is set to release another #1 UK album, "Their Law – The Singles 1990- 2005” which features classics such as ‘Firestarter’, ‘Their Law’, ‘Breathe’, ‘One Love’,‘Charly’ and ten other top singles from the vast catalogue.

THE PRODIGY
“THEIR LAW - THE SINGLES 1990-2005”
2xCD, PLUS DVD RELEASE
XL RECORDS
RELEASE DATE: FEBRUARY 28, 2006

“Their Law- The Singles 1990-2005” deluxe double-disc set includes a
colorful 50 page booklet and the numerous singles that changed the face
of British music. Recently landing the #1 Spot on the UK album charts,
'Their Law' features all The Prodigy's Top 20 singles, plus new, previously unreleased tracks - “Razor”, “Back 2 Skool”, “Voodoo Beats” and a remix of “Under my Wheels”. That same day, XL will be releasing a spectacular DVD set of the same name, highlighting the controversial “Smack My Bitch Up” video, the groundbreaking clip for “Firestarter” and footage from various Prodigy live performances. Look forward to jaw-dropping scenes from Brixton Academy (1997), Red Square in Russia (1997), and Glastonbury (1995). They've always done it in their own formidable way - as highlighted on 'Their Law'.

The Prodigy crossed over to shock the mainstream with an incendiary live
experience that approximated the original atmosphere of the British rave scene even while leaning close to arena-rock showmanship and punk theatrics. It was musician / producer Liam Howlett whose studio wizardry launched The Prodigy to the top of the charts, spinning a web of hard-hitting breakbeat techno with king-sized hooks and unmissable samples. Despite electronic music's diversity and quick progression during the 1990s, Liam modified the Prodigy's sound sparingly; swapping the rave-whistle effects and ragga samples for metal chords and chanted vocals, which proved the only major difference in the band's evolution from their debut to their worldwide breakthrough with their third
album The Fat of the Land.

The Prodigy are: Liam Howlett, Maxim, Keith Flint

"Their Law" will be available in standard deluxe (CD1 and CD2) formats.

Fuck Them
And Their Law
I'd known her for years. We used to go to all the police functions together. Ah, how I loved her, but she had her music. I think she had her music. She'd hang out with the Chicago Male Chorus and Symphony. I don't recall her playing an instrument or being able to carry a tune. Yet she was on the road 300 days of the year. In fact, I bought her a harp for Christmas. She asked me what it was.

The Prodigy are one of the most important groups in music of the last 20 years. Any band that can get the reaction that Fat of the Land did, or that can make 2 albums as good as the first 2 deserves a GC, imo.

You're the first person I've ever heard say they think the Prodigy are shit. I'm actually in shock.

Linds, myself, and loads (like 20) friends went to the gig at the beginning of September, and it was absolutely superb. All about the massive mosh pit

Definitely the best gig I've been to since Orbital in Summer 2004.

don't forget voodoo people, breathe, the law. Man what a great show.

I assumed seats where always open, they where for Jamiroquai when i saw them perform there.

i love the Nokia venue.

So hear goes my comments for the evening. as a Dj watching adam freeland i was pretty bored i love breakbeats and house and techno and i was about to fall asleep with his musical selection. I fkin love prodigy but i thought that the show looked alil to scripted just got the live dvd and watched the older shows from like 97 and it doesnt look like onstage antics and the flow of the show actually changed that much. I have to admit i was a bit dissapointed with the flow of the show. it was more like a Metal band with synths than a electronic performance...having the show practically stop after everysong was a bit annoying , at the end liam went on like a 4 song mix and I was lovin it...i mean the reason i dont go to Band concerts anymore is cause I dontl like the waiting inbetween songs...just keep PLAYING...besides that the quality was amazing but was alil dissapointed in the "LIVE" aspects not to many remixs in which i hadnt heard and didnt really seam like they were straying at all from the originals..which is a dissapointment. I have to agree tho highlights for me were all their old songs..the newer ones werent doin it for me. thats my take..any other thoughts?

Many, many, many of the top billed edm "live" stuff is not very live. Fucking up might mean a difference in cd sales. Quite a few live acts are presequenced and simply embellish effects or maybe have a singer or guitar or bass to give the idiots something to look at. There are very few live acts that really work their shit live to the nth details due to how big and complex a touring rig that is or what kind of random sound might allienate a crowd that is largely only seeking ot hear their favorite album versions.

As lovely as it is, most of hte dance music industry is a sham and racket.

I dont care for any of the prodigys works, but respect what it did for global rave culture.
Tribal and Glauren should suit up or shut up.

Prodigy was on and off. Almost seemed like a novelty act at times. Other times, the show rocked...Spitfire, Smack My Bitch Up, Poison made the walls shake. My fave part was when they closed with Out of Space, great song...worth seeing, but only if you are/were a fan.
