Argenis Brito, born Venezuelan, resided in Santiago de Chile until 2002. Meanwhile he is located in Berlin - like many of his Chilean friends and companions. Initially the professional producer, bass player and smart singer had committed himself to the current Pop and Rock music of his homeland until he began to prioritise the diversity of electronic sounds to provide a basis for his productions in 1998. However, in search of modern sounds for the global ballroom he set standards very high for the complete genre of Latinotronics already in 1997, as a member of Gonzalo Martínez (BMG Chile, multiColor, Other Records) - together with Jorge González, Dandy Jack, Pink Elln and atom™. Common productions with Markus Nikolai (Perlon) and Sieg ueber die Sonne followed. Another cooperation happened with Jay Haze for his lately released album "Love for a Strange World" (Kitty-yo). Argenis' job as a regular singer with charismatic performer qualities with the Señor Coconut band (multiColor, Emperor Norton, East West Japan, Rather Interesting) let him appear on stages of the most important festivals worldwide over the past years: Big Chill 04 (UK), Dur Festival 04 (Belgium), Melt 04 (Germany), MTV Festival 03 (France), Mutek 03 (Canada), Mutek 04 (Chile), Orange Festival 04 (island of Réunion), Synch Festival 04 (Greece), Womad 04 (UK + Mallorca), among others.
In 1996 Chilean Pier Bucci started to create his own vision of atmospherical rhythmics via experimental musical programming. On a journey round the world for 10 years, which he made by ship for the most part, he used the unique opportunity to internalise musical influences of all geographical regions he visited. Subsequently, back in Santiago de Chile it was inevitable that he was introduced to Ricardo Villalobos and Luciano, to get together with those guys, beginning to play electronic jam sessions. Early in 1999 he founded the project Skipsapiens together with his companion Daniel Nieto, which roughed up melodies generated by analogue equipment by incorporating very individual sound effects. In 2000, during the same periode of time the first Mambotur songs have been produced, he released an album of concrete music entitled "Music for Architecture". In the meantime Pier, who also lives in Berlin since 2002, has released an impressing number of records and contributions to compilations (i.a. on Cadenza, Cynosure, Crosstownrebels, Mutek Rec., Ruta 5 und WMF) with solo projects and cooperations (w/his brother Andrés and Pink Elln, among others). For Lucien-N-Luciano's current album "Blind Behavior" (Peacefrog) he co-produced four titles. TEAMWORK In 2003 the debut album by Monne Automne (Lofi Stereo) appeared, which is a collaboration of Pier, Luciano and Argenis. While having worked in the studio with Pink Elln (Sieg ueber die Sonne) and Max Loderbauer (Sun Electric, Chica and the Folder) on remixes and the production of songs by popular Chilean band Los Jaivas in 2004, the new project Maluco was founded by the trio Argenis, Pier and Max. Mambotur's Trans-Latino-Express through software wonderland gathers momentum pretty well! For further informations please check: www.multicolor-recordings.de/mambotur
