unquestionably amongst my most favorite new producers, these guys make awesome tunes. I just put MP003 on my new mix, and everyone from Steve Bug (on that recent Switch mix) to Peace Division (some one spotted it at Sully) has been caning their new one, MP005

here some DJ mixes from these boys, both together, and Rozzo and Serafin seperately. I've had the Rozzo live from Slutfunk Afterhours on the ipod for a while, definitely class.

from mnmlssg.blogspot.com

The Mountain People

The Mountain People are made up of Serafin and Rozzo, two guys from Suisse who are seriously house. If anyone has heard one of the Mountain People releases or their dj set recorded on Rundfunk FM (which has been getting serious play on my stereo) you’d know exactly what I mean. Both in their djing and production, Serafin and Rozzo really, really know what they are doing. They remind me a bit of Thomas Melchoir not so much in the sound (even though there is a bit of a similarity there) but more in the design – the beauty, the depth of this music comes from its feel and its simplicity. The three Mountain People records that appeared in 2007 have rightly been getting a lot of play and charting, and my feeling is that we can expect much more in 2008. To give you an idea, check out these sets from the Mountain People:

Mountain People DJs on Rundfunk FM available here care of filter27
http://www.filter27.com/archives/200...people_djs.php

And here are some from them individually:

Rozzo – House is Alive mix
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=2IZVM8T4

Rozzo – Live at Slutfunk After Hour 11/07

Rozzo – Live at the Bedroom (maybe 11/06)
http://www.trackdownrecords.com/soun...TheBedroom.mp3

Both these Rozzo sets are id’d as ‘live at the bedroom’, but they are different…

Serafin – Live at Loftclub 12/05

Serafin – Starship discotheque pt 1
http://www.p45.ch/sounds/mixes/starshipdiscotheque1.mp3

There is a part 2 to this mix, I shall try to find the link for it later…

Rozzo's earlier stuff was much trancier.

Look up one of his first releases called "blue"

was even features on a Masiello CD if im not mistaken. Think it was on Balance.

yea, on Reloaded.. I'm not sure if that's the same Rozzo, but it's possible

also, I'm pretty sure Rozzo (Mountain People Rozzo) is, or is part of, Peter Dildo

yeah same dood me thinks

i like the direction he is taking with this mountain people project. Their first release was my fave. Proper deep synth stuff. I also liked the release on mountain people called "no cowns in berlin" or sumthing like that. I forget the artist.

edit: looked it up, berlin has no cows by serafin (1/2 of mountain people)

man, Serafin is such a wicked producer... he had that remix of the Marcel Wave on freerange. his 'back to new york' remix, which was ill

he's also got a remix on the new drumpoet community (thought I personally prefer the orig):

such a great producer

Went through this stuff on beatport and picked a couple of things up. On the whole this stuff is nice, but I must remark that it's very much like the stuff that's been coming out consistently on dessous for years, so to me it was nice but not special. I also don't think any of the mountain people tracks are as good as Starship Discotheque, but that is one of my all time favorite records.

in the beginning we were going to have mountain people to come play for our wmc event and were working hard to get them.

they definetly are incredible and both crazy larry and i were very into bringing them to our cheap sunglasses event.

but stay tuned, cause you never know what might come up soon with blkmarket
