47. I have no street cred. What have I been doing the past 14 years?

I've been partying since 1995 and all I got was this lousy Liquid Sky necklace and a scar from where my tongue used to be pierced.

Never trust a big butt and a smile.

You are not old school if you care to do the quiz. Old school people are too jaded to do post results. They do the quiz, but dont post the results.

THE BAD - NYC Nightlife Cred
[/B]
In lieu of THE BAD, I was feeling a little nostalgic, looking back on my some of my days and nights in NYC and realized I have done a whole lot of going out. I realized I may not be as old school as many, but I think I could be a little more old school than some but there is no real way to quantify that. So the Good The Bad and The Messy has developed a state of the art, cutting edge, in depth Nightlife Credibility Quiz to do just that.

So, grab a pencil and read on to figure out just how “Old School” you really are. You can score yourself at the end.

Section 1: Been There Done That
For each of the clubs or parties you have attended ADD +2 points. (Unless otherwise noted.)
  • Twilo - DONE
  • Save The Robots DONE
  • Robots (+1) - DONE
  • Tunnel - DONE do i get extra for working tere?
  • Soundfactory (27th Street) (+3)- DONE
  • Soundfactory (46th Street) (+1) - DONE
  • Shelter (Hubert St) - DONE do i get credit for the unity parties there?
  • Shelter (39th St) - DONE do i get credit for working there?
  • Shelter (Varick) (+1) - DONE

  • Limelight - DONE do i get credit for working there?
  • Le Souk (when they had an actual real lawn) - DONE
  • Thought ‘Save the Robots’ was the same as Robots (-5)
- i got upset when they used the robots name.

Section 2: Before They Were Famous
Endless great DJs have started off in NYC and many have played to tiny crowds in intimate joints. Add +3 points for every big time DJ who you saw at these classic nightspots or parties.
  • Astro&Glyde at Izzy Bar
  • Magda at Drinkland
  • Larry Tee at Luxx - I knew him way before this & larry was always famous Do you have a hot body?
  • Joeski & Onionz at Mondaze - knew him before this
  • Disco D (RIP) at Booty Bar
  • Neil Aline at Plant Bar
  • Adultnapper at Halcyon on Smith St. - DONE
  • Little Louie Vega at Sound Factory Bar - DONE
  • Kevin Mchugh pre-Ambivalent at Filter 14 - DONE
  • Alexi Delano at Novacento

BONUS: Before They Were Born
If you were going out before The Martinez Brothers were born (1988), add 2 more points.

DONE Intensity & the bay club........

Section 3: When it was THERE?
There are lots of legendary parties that have traveled all over NYC and been at many different venues. But were you there at some of the earliest locations? (ADD +2)
  • Giant Step at Shine
  • Tronic Treatment at Guernica - DONE
  • Subliminal Sessions at Centro Fly - DONE
  • Robots at Open Air
  • Respect Is Burning at Twilo
  • Turntables on the Hudson at The Frying Pan
- DONE

Section 4: Remember That Time You…?
Then of course there are other signs that you have been around a looong time (ADD +2)
  • Heard Drum & Bass at Baktun - DONE
  • Planned your weekend with the help of Flyer Magazine - I put adds in flyer - HI Juan

  • Octagon - DONE worked there
  • Club USA - DONE
  • Danceteria
  • Larry Levan (+3)
  • David Mancuso - have plans to go

Umm and can we get extra points for going to Cipriani's for the Delta Heavy tour? Probably the most amazing spectacle of a party I have ever been to in NYC.

was that the thxgvg cipriani party? if so, delta heavy was a totally separate thing and at another time, and I think even a different venue, like the world or something.
Tribal and Glauren should suit up or shut up.

The day before thansgiving, but yeah. I could swear that was the first Delta Heavy party. They already had the visuals that had the little tribal dudes that were made to imitate Sasha and John....Then later on in January or so, they had the World portion of the tour...I could be wrong...
