http://www.skulldisco.com/freedownlo...OV2007_64K.mp3

one of my friends told me to check out this label since most dubstep ive heard was a bit to d&B/grime influenced. Its a nice mix. Many of hte sounds are half tempo and the overall tempo is a bit faster than i am used to listening to. This might be the stuff otherjockey has been going off about
Tribal and Glauren should suit up or shut up.

yea, should be. my gf leaves for torino in september, so i gotta make use of the time.

another recommentadion is tectonic records and 2562.

its a pity so much of the dubstep stuff is just grime. tectonic did a party in berghain a few weeks ago. heard it was quite bassy, lol

Skulldisco is ok. Shackleton's shit is not bad. It's ok for like lounging or chilling on the comedown.

love skull disco, as well as the drawings on their records - some of the most tolerable 'dubstep' for me. Lush yet understated, percussive, evocative, rhythmic, basic and futuristic all at the same time. I definitely have a few appleblim and shackleton releases. i don't feel that this stuff generally conforms to the garagey generic standard of 'dubstep' - it's mostly very unique. the death theme is a great theme that doesn't make its way into club-oriented dance music as much as it should.

haven't heard the new 'dubstep allstars' mix from appleblim yet but hope to soon. his ra podcast is fantastic too.

i heard that their latest release will be the last for the label...

Hah! Yeah skulldisco is pretty good. I tend to get bored with Shakleton's productions. My favorite producers currently have to be Vex'd and Kode 9. Although Kode 9 probably skirts too near the grime side of things for your tastes.
Dubstep has so much potential it really takes the idea of a closed eletronic genre and spins it up.
It's impossible this thing before me. As big as my eyeball!
