Washington, DC- Yoshitoshi Recordings is riding high on its recent success of various fresh Billboard chart-topping releases and numerous honors on DJ Mag’s Top 100 Dj’s list, including the label’s owner, Deep Dish, stealing the #10 spot. All of these listings are an additional testament to the strength of this label, but the real buzz is about the next project to be released from the depths of the Yoshitoshi vaults. Yoshitoshi presents: In House We Trust 4. Alex Neri, of Planetfunk fame, and Omid 16B, both mix this latest installment in the highly successful Yoshitoshi CD series. It is slated for release in mid-February 2004 and promises to deliver two seamless journeys through the world of dance music.
Danny Howells upcoming release “Dusk Till Dawn” will continue to prove that his production skills are just as impressive as his talents in djing and creating amazing compilations. The disco driven track features the vocals of Eririe, was co-produced with Dick Trevor and will be released by Yoshitoshi Recordings in January 2004. This production duo has worked together as “Science Dept.” on various other successful projects, including another collaboration with Eririe on “Breathe.”
Knight Keys a.k.a. Hani is an extremely prolific New York based producer who has maintained an appeal in both underground and commercial circles. “Never Felt This Way” is his third project for Deep Dish Record’s Shinichi label and features his trademark sound. Shnichi also roped in rising DJ/Producers Behrouz and Andy Caldwell, along with Urbantorque’s Jason Moore and Chas ‘Flow’ Burns for remix duties. This has been a firm favorite with Deep Dish for months and was included in their acclaimed Global Underground’s Toronto compilation.
The production and djing duo, Chris & Kai are coming off their recent remix of Sumo's “Yes We Will” to make their debut on Yoshitoshi Recordings with a club friendly cover of the Pretty Poison 80’s hit “Catch Me I’m Falling.” Chris & Kai used the familiar hook to create the 80’s inspired “Catch Me” cover and dug even deeper to create the pure funk hit, “Suffocation.” As evidence of Chris & Kai’s talent, “Catch Me” has already been charted and played out by industry giants Deep Dish, Danny Howells and the Low End Specialists. Additionally, co-owner of Yoshitoshi and half of the Grammy Award winning Deep Dish duo, Sharam has said, “Chris and Kai's new cut 'Suffocation' is simply amazing." Both “Catch Me” and “Suffocation” will be released in late Nov ’03 on Yoshitoshi Recordings.
Richard Morel (Yoshitoshi) is taking a break from working on his nearly completed album and his recent “Pink Noise” remixes, featuring the likes of Tina Turner, Mariah Carey and Depeche Mode. He is now collaborating with Bob Mould (Hüsker Dü, Sugar, Loud Bomb) for their weekly BLOWOFF party at the 9:30 Club's Backbar in Washington, DC. The Saturday night party was spurred from the recently completed BLOWOFF album and upcoming tour and “presents a dj night music experience.” every Saturday night. Its album release will coincide with the release of Morel’s solo album and tour in the spring of 2004 on Yoshitoshi.
The Deepsky duo is certainly living up to their reputation as one of the busiest and most desirable production teams. They recently did a remix of “Love’s Divine” on the new Seal ‘IV’ Album. Seal and Warner Brothers were so impressed with the work, that it was added to the recently released European version of Seal’s album. Next on tap, Deepsky has been asked to remix The Crystal Method's "Born Too Slow," which will be the first single from their upcoming album Legion Of Boom. Additionally, Deepsky’s debut on Yoshitoshi, “Talk Like A Stranger (featuring Jes)” will be released in early 2004 and is already being crowned the biggest tune of 2004.
