is anyone planning on going to CMJ this year?

http://www.cmj.com/marathon/index.php

if so, what are you going to? are there any "can't miss" events?

i started making a rough wish-list of events:

Azeem will be great. Always an excellent live show. If you want some good solid west coast hip-hop.

DFA night at Brooklyn Bowl looks hot.

Still Going are playing. Never heard them play, so that would be awesome. Pretty sure they barely ever perform. Holy Ghost too....s'nice!

I'd known her for years. We used to go to all the police functions together. Ah, how I loved her, but she had her music. I think she had her music. She'd hang out with the Chicago Male Chorus and Symphony. I don't recall her playing an instrument or being able to carry a tune. Yet she was on the road 300 days of the year. In fact, I bought her a harp for Christmas. She asked me what it was.

I'm really debating a last minute attempt to hit Poussin Rouge tomorrow night for The Very Best. They are my favorite make-me-smile album (or mixtape, I guess) of the year.

Stadendotron, if I get my shit together (flying the next morning) go would you come with?

Both sound good!

Atlas Sound is sold out though.

yeah, it's sold out. but they let in a certain amount of badge holders if you show up early.

i'm not sure what the point of having a badge is, if you can't actually get into anything unless you show up at 7pm?

that being said, not sure where we'll wind up tonight.

Ouch. My head. Too much vodka. Clipse and this New Zealand rap group called Kidz in Space led the way to a very pleasant evening. Loved the food too at the 42 Below party. Them some tasty burgers.

we started out at that Red Bull/42 Below party. didn't see you there. saw some band called Motocade that were good, and a band called Bang Bang Eche, that seemed like it didn't have any members older than 17

went over to Le Poisson Rouge afterwards for Atlas Sound, and Broadcast. Atlas Sound was cool - Bradford has a backing band, and played a bunch of stuff off of his new record. Broadcast were pretty nuts - crazy visuals, and lots of noise. heh.

tonight thinking about going to Santos to hear Deastro (on Ghostly), and Cymbals Eat Guitars.
