MOLDY (Heavy Pressure, Earwax, Surefire - Portland, Maine)

http://www.myspace.com/moldy

Heralded as one of the United States’ original dubstep soldiers, Moldy is known for his mind-bending DJ sets and thoughtful productions. A bass music veteran of over a decade, in 1998 he helped pioneer 24/7 Internet Radio with Factory188 in Portland, Maine, in 2001 he entered the Boston scene spinning dub plates of his original drum & bass; in 2005 he founded Heavy Pressure Recordings in New York City and became entrenched as a proponent of US dubstep with frequent performances at the early Dub War NYC parties and as the first resident dubstep DJ at Konkrete Jungle. He has since toured throughout the US and as far as London. He has a number of releases under his belt on his own imprint as well as Counter Intelligence, 'Earwax, and Thermal Recordings; and releases currently forthcoming on Surefire and Deep Medi Musik. He currently resides in Portland, Maine; where he hosts the city's original dubstep party, Heavy Pressure Night.

SECRET AGENT GEL (Low Motion Records, Dub War, Rowdy!)
http://www.secretagentgel.com
http://www.myspace.com/secretagentgel

Secret Agent Gel has spent ten years producing and preforming electronic music, concentrating on the perfect mix of danceable and interesting. The biggest influences were releases from Rephlex, Warp, Planet-mu and underground (and not so underground) music from the UK and the internet. His mix of genres have lead to releases as diverse as DubWar001 (dubstep, 2006) tracks on Recordcamp’s "Brooklyn Keeps On Takin’ It" compilation (breaks, 2003) and Badd Inc's first Electroclash compilation (electrohouse, 2004). He's toured the UK, Europe and around the US, playing with Kode 9, Hank ShockLee, Chicks on Speed, Datach'i and many more. In the last few years, the sounds of bassline, dubstep, 2step and garage house have taken over the Secret Agent Gel studio. He runs Bass Tourist Records and founded DubFiler a file sharing web site for DJ's and musicians.

AND RESIDENTS:

KASIO (Bassdrive)
http://www.myspace.com/djkasio

KASIO, started life as a calculator watch. During the early 00's he discovered DnB and instead, became a selector - delivering a more soulful, funkier, moon-walking style of drum & bass to the dancefloor.

Migrating to the gritty New York DnB Scene from Down Under. Kasio can be found regularly spinning in the clubs of Brooklyn & Manhattan and Streaming weekly on Bassdrive with his popular G-Shock Radio Show.

Starting out fresh in the early Breaks movement, shuffling to the Freestylers, Plump Djs & the Staton Warriors, it was when Kasio heard the liquid sounds of Defunked, Hospital & Renegade Recordings that he switched religions to the 175bpm tempos.

For production inspiration Kasio draws on the Broken Beat & Deep House genres, spending endless hours listening to rare grooves and old skool funk, auditioning & slicing up sample gold into his unique style of Drum & Bass.

NYCHAVOK (Rockin Audio)
http://www.myspace.com/nychavok
http://www.facebook.com/nychavok

Nychavok (Pronounced Nigh-Cha-Vok) is one of the new talents springing up in the NYC DnB scene making his debut in the summer of 2007. A New York City native, he has been a resident for The Secret Night of Science and Let it Roll, two of NYC's biggest Drum+Bass monthlies. He is also the founder of Alteration, a party run by five local NYC DJ's working together to bring quality bass music acts to the Big Apple. Nychavok has already played alongside the likes of Klute, Marcus Intalex, Calibre, Fabio, Makoto, Dieselboy and others. Into the more dark, deep and edgier sounds of Drum n Bass, Nychavok is all about pushing this sound and this city deeper into all music culture. Into his roots, he is also a staunch supporter of the growing Eastern European sound, and will also begin to work in the production studio one of these days.

TOMMY ETZI (Camouflage, Sushi Bass)
http://www.tommyetzi.com

Tommy Etzi coming from the rust belt city, Pittsburgh, PA. then moving to Brooklyn, New York in the late nineties. Networking and building relations, Tommy gained early status in the competitive New York City dj circuit. Playing a techno, house, progressive sound while pushing the most cutting edge dance music made him a crowd favorite. Tommy's current residencies include Sushi-Bass every other Saturday and Camouflage every Tuesday. Taking piano and studying music, Tommy is working hard on expressing his sound through production.
