One of Detroit’s most versatile decknicians is making his long-awaited return to the
Sullivan Room this Saturday.
Basic NYC is bringing the Motor City’s
STACEY PULLEN back to New York for another set of dancefloor-focused hypnotic house and techno. Stacey’s wrecked Sully on many occasions before, and we’re excited to welcome him back for what will undoubtedly be a night of top-shelf electronic music.
Stacey is an artist who takes his music very seriously. Schooled in the art of techno with a first-hand education from the Detroit masters, Stacey's phenomenal DJing skills consistently wow crowds around the world, week in and week out. 2010 is shaping up to be another big year for him, as he takes part in the worldwide D25 celebrations, recognizing the 25th anniversary of Detroit techno. His set at the D25 WMC kickoff event left everyone buzzing, and he’ll be in Detroit for the 2010 Movement festival as well. This year he’ll be performing at the festival itself and on the much-anticipated “I’m On a Boat 2” after party, where he’ll be playing alongside Carl Craig, Mirko Loko and Agoria.
In recent years, Stacey has juggled his jam-packed DJing schedule with a welcome return to the studio. Recent remixes for Gene Ferris’ Ferris Wheel label, Toronto’s No. 19 Music and Troll Records have put his name back on the production map, while he continues to plan a relaunch of his own
Blackflag Recordings label. In 2009, he mixed up the esteemed UK label 2020 Vision’s back catalog for a well-regarded
Stacey Pullen’s 2020 Vision mix CD.
Also spinning on the night will be
Taisun, a longtime New York favorite who will be leaving the Big Apple to move to Amsterdam. Opening things up (and making his Basic NYC debut) will be
Pauly Raffaele from the Dog and Pony show events. Basic NYC residents
Sleepy & Boo will be on hand as well, as they continue a diverse lineup of guest headliners. Sullivan Room’s sound recently got a nice low-end boost with the addition of some brand-new bass cabinets, so Stacey’s thumping tunes will certainly be blasting loud and clear on the Sully system.
