well here's their bio
Cause n Fx biography
Cause n FX should really have learnt by now that its not big and it’s never been clever….
In 2000 Cause (under a now, hopefully forgotten pseudonym) began DJing for the now legendary Breaks FM and in September of the same year Mikey (aka Phantom Power) became an engineer at Headroom Studio’s (r.i.p.). The work with Breaks FM and Headroom brought the boys into contact with South London’s very own Mechanoise. Phantom Power went on to engineer for Mechanoise throughout 2001 while both became more active on the DJ circuit playing at both the Collision nights and Global Beats in London and the odd guest show on internet radio stations Spacefm.com and Pyrotechnic.com, the latter guesting on the Botchit and Scarper show.
2002 and 2003 saw Cause and FX take a step forward with gigs in Rome, Connecticut and New York City. Content to be known now just as Cause and FX, Mikey co-runs Mechanoise with Sons of Mecha with Ben lending his expertise to the internet side of the business. They also have a fortnightly show on Breaks FM as well as having guested on the Mechanoise, Unstable Label and Jay Cunning shows on the station (Mikey has been known to do the odd cheeky Drum’n’Bass set too!)
2004 looks like it could be a big year for Cause and FX. They’ve cut down on the chemicals, let the monkey go and have finally got their studios working. A collaboration with the rascal known as Dan Contax is in the pipeline and the boys are now working on their first 12” release for Mechanoise.
They also host their own fortnightly show on Breaks FM on Fridays between 12 and 2am GMT. You can tune in on-line @
